Re: Freedom 15-4 pre cut kit
I built the 1st Freedom 15 that Matt designed. It was the prototype for the Freedom series. For whats it's worth department it is one sweet kayak to paddle and will take a lot of gear if you like to paddle and camp. I paddled it in the 10,000 islands of the Everglades National park for a week long t...

Re: Dumb question... marine foam cores rather than marine pl
You are breaking new ground with this foam board ( High Density Tooling Foam Board ). It will be interesting to see which way and what you decide to do.

Re: My TouringPirogue-TV Build
Everyone does a build the way they want it and like it. That's the beauty of doing it yourself. :D Myself I like the 1/8 in wood with it epoxy saturated and glassed all the way around. Butt Joints are my favorite and I glass over the joint ( Both sides ) with 3.5 oz tight woven glass. The piece of g...

Re: More SS&G questions
I built the Sasquatch which has about the same twists and bends in it. When you get the frames set in position the panels will temporarily attach to them and then the panels take shape without any problems. Page #1 of my post might be of some help explaining that. Re: Another Camouflage Thread
If you are going to hunt ducks then you , by rights , will have some decoys out. Pull your boat into some weeds , get out and put out the decoys then come back and drape some camouflage netting over the boat and some of the weeds to break up your and the boats outline. Some light weight cloth from t...

Re: Pirogue Seat Positions/height
Thanks for the help. I doubt if mine will look that good, maybe the next one. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Besides I always considered it a winner if any of mine floated. I found that if any mistakes were made ( I have made plenty ) and you don't point them out to anyone they never n...

Re: Pirogue Seat Positions/height
The height is your choice but the higher the seat is the higher the center of gravity will be and the tipper the boat becomes. On a 12 inch side I like the seat at 6 inches or lower. One thing you might want to consider is a seat that is not attached to the pirogue but can be removed if you want it ...

Re: Wadefish 15-32, 3mm vs 4mm ply
I haven't made a Wadefish so Matt would be the correct person to answer your question about which thickness is the best. :D I made my boats from 1/8th inch plywood and they worked great for me. I epoxy saturate the wood before glassing it and glassed the boats inside and outside. The thinner wood re...
