Oh dear you've done it all wrong! The top of an Okwata should be rounded, not flat sections
Oh well, it looks good anyway. Well done.
Cheers John.

Re: First timer, canoe
Hi Ranil. Welcome to the sickness that is boatbuilding. You do not need lots of tools. A piece of a broken file will work just as well as a tungsten carbide scraper. In fact if you don't put too much epoxy on to begin with you won't need a scraper at all. A tape measure, (never use two tape measures...

Re: Laker in Louisiana!
Ok, but were the panels fibreglassed before adding the tape to the hull/deck joint? Or, is that you are just taping the seams?

Re: Laker in Louisiana!
So is the tape over the top of the outside fibreglass, or instead of outside fibreglass? I"m confused.

Re: canoe car topping
I reckon you're more likely to get lifting forces from a boat, canoe or kayak being the right way up rather than upside down. So I always put mine upside down. Shouldn't have a problem at legal speed limits, however on another forum I saw some pics where the draught from a passing/speeding truck cau...

Think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how little the panels will "spring" out of shape. I know I was. Even if they do move a little, reinforcement for your hatches would pull it back into shape.

Re: How to plot the PDF pictures
Think of the boat building thing as a bit of a challenge. If you haven't done anything like this before start at the beginning and plot the parts on to the plywood as Matt suggests. You will gain a far better understanding of the whole process if you contribute to it. You can catch up on the lost ti...

How about bringing some Aussie weather with you John? You probly wouldn't want this year's weather. We've actually had more rain this year than we got with the realy bad floods we had last year. As I write I think we're getting close to an average years rain with six months to go. Having said that ...
