I received a package today that reads

CAPE FEAR 12!!!!

It seems to have a few more pages than the pirogue instructions. Can't wait to get started.

A Shorter SOT

I am in and around smaller bodies of water than most of the builders on the forum, Southern Missouri, what about a nice 10 to 12 footer for floating spring fed rivers, easily manuverable and stable to fish from. Don't need to be fast, I'd take stability over speed. I think there is a Cape Fear 12' s...

Pirogue got wet

I thought it was pretty great when I finished the boat construction, then I took it to the nearest pond and paddled around. That is the freaking best feeling. Now it is a boat, not just a large paperweight. Anyway, I am including a link to photobucket album, photos through construction and the most ...

Anybody wet sand before varnish?

Another JEM Pirogue off the assembly line

Done!!!! Except for the varnish. How long after the last coat of epoxy should I wait to start the varnish process? and how many coats of varnish? should I lightly sand epoxy before varnish? and the last question how do I post photos. I have to say it is a rewarding feeling to have made a boat, I'm g...

the old 14-29 Pirogue, she looks pretty good so far. Simple boat so for something to go wrong, it has to be major. I brought up outfitting, I was interested in everyone creative ways to customize a boat, I will fish, fly-fish with it, I was thinking rod holders, tackle trays, beverage holder, stuff ...

Pirogue in Process

Unfortunately, I too have started to build a boat. The way everyone talks I should start looking for storage space because you just can't build one. Anyway, I have a question on glassing the hull. Right now the sheet of fiberglass is laying on hull waiting...... I am not sure if I need to cover the ...
