moving right along
Steaming and bending bottom part of combing start mounting it
decided to go ahead and sand and glass hull before I put top combing on
Glass is really bringing out the grain
letting it dry before a couple more coats are put on then put on and glass top combing .

Matt
Its a carry over from my days of building Indian flat bows and re curves
take you a container full of water bring it to a boil with wood submersed in it for at least 30 minutes have a form cut with your radius so you can wrap it around it clamp in place let cool for several hours.
The grain has to be straight if you can't find a good straight grain piece you can cut part of the way thru every half inch and bend bye heating.
One of the pieces I had was done this way because the grain was wrong.
It shows in one pic.

hey Ron,
Thanks for the tips mate, re steaming. I have been playing with an idea about building a steamer box but your idea sounds very good.

Looks like it is time to expand that one car garage into a two car garage. Hope she floats. Have fun. Anxious to see how the 1/8 inch ply feels.
