first coat of graphite is on.



While that was setting up, I started working on a little deck tube thing. Sort of like a small glove box where Robin can keep her camera or something.

Component parts round the forming block.



Ready for external fillets.



Glued up. Made one for me too.



I got two more coats of graphite on the bottom today and hope to flip her tomorrow and start on the internal fittings.

I like your glove boxes, Mick. I've seen some boats with a short chunk of PVC pipe center-mounted up under the deck at the forward edge of the cockpit. Yours has more class.

Got all my "Honey Doos" done yesterday and could spend all day, pretty much, on the boat today.

Seat supports are cut, fitted and in



Cut and fitted a rear bulkhead, with shear clamps





Made one for me too



Foot brace backing plates are cut & fitted



Front deck support is also in.



Seat is in.



Won't be any more done till after Christmas, tis beer O'clock now.

The quality Gaboon ply has been a very big help on this one and has made the job much easier.

I was looking and our lakers, side by side last night, and Robins, somehow, looked sleeker than mine. I ran the tape over them and at the widest point, my boat is a full 40mm or about 1 1/2" wider than Robins

Hers measures 670mm which is as the specs state and mine is 710mm. This is a mystery to me becuse I used the same temp hull frames on both boats. Clearly, I have done something wrong on my Laker but I just can't work out what it is.

Oh yeah, , Robin's boat is considerably lighter than mine was at this stage of build The way things are going, I think it will be ideal for her.

The oldsparkey influence got to him while working on Robins boat , it just sneaks up on someone and before they know it .... it is to late.

A great but lighter and skinner boat. ( Might of been the beer he had before working on it)

Either way it has to be my fault. Besides I ate those 40 M @ M's before you took the measurement , even the green ones , my favorite ones. Yum , Yum , They are good and that is why you were short the 40 M @ M's between the 670 and the 710 mm's

I am not real sure mate. I had some trouble getting my warped,cheap ply to conform to shape. The only thing I can think of is that the forces I applied in getting the deformities out in the ends caused the tops of the side panelks to bow out in the middle.

In the end, the best I could do with my boat was to get the lines looking as fair as I could and stitch it up there.
