Edit: No linking to competitors websites, please!
Sorry Matt, didn't know it was a competitor's site, I googled 'steam powered canoe' and this page appeared. I didn't check the address.

competing products overall.
It's a judgment call... and I'm the judge.

Had a really good day working on the canoe today.
First thing (8am) I managed to get the last four seams glass taped and left it to cure.
Then after lunch went and found some nice white oak boards (1" x 6") and ripped them down into sizes for the gunwales on the table saw. They were not the full length 14' boards so the gunwales will have to be done in sections. I also had enough left for the thwartes.
This evening I went back and worked on the hull again, this time managing to get all the filleting done. That will cure overnight.
I'll get some more photos tomorrow.

I have a week at home, so I'm taking the opportunity to get as much done as possible
Just put in five additional 2" glass tapes at across the belly, inside at midships at 6" spacing to try and stop the bottom flexing inwards (oil canning). Do you think that would be enough or do I need more? I don't fancy the timber braces alternative in the plans.

Lookin good Falcn, brings back memories of my build. Very nice. What type of power do you plan to use on the stern?

I've been looking at a few of the trolling motors, nothing big, maybe 2hp.
Just done the outer glass, what a messy job. Instead of taking Matt's advice and using two 1m wide cloth lengths I bought a single length 1.5m wide glass cloth. Which meant the sumblehome glass was being laid upside down. I think I got more epoxy on me than on the boat. Just waiting for the first coat to go tacky so I can put on the second and third coat this afternoon without sanding in between. Looks like a late night again
Need a new pair of trousers too - they are stood up in the kitchen, solid epoxy from the thigh to the knee
