Laker
Good points fast small easy to handle glides well is lively
good looking boat to
Things I dislike
At my weight she sits in the water deeper than I like , seat has to be on the floor for me to feel stable
T-V The length , hull being asymmetrical the T-v is faster handles rough water better,is really stable so I can use an elevated seat floats very shallow glides well ( the more weight you put in her better she glides)
It is really a asymmetrical Laker just longer, on my trip I never felt out of control at all and we had places that big river squeezed down to twenty are thirty feet wide really swift dodging rocks and overhanging limbs
it handles really well I was paddling beside a high performance wooden yak that was loaded half as heavy was four inch narrower and nearly a foot longer had no trouble keeping up performance was pretty equal
ran through rapids with 2 ft plus standing waves and one day three foot plus waves that were whitecapping ,no problem, and in our fresh water the waves are very close you can't ride them you just have to bust thru them.
T-V bottom 24 inches at widest point
widest point on the boat is 28.5
Lake bottom 22 inches wide
widest point26.5 inches
They are my two favorite boats but for very different uses
Laker for quick throw in the back of the truck trips of a couple hours
Comfort with low seat is problem with me
T -v if i need to carry gear shallow water or fast watter or for all day expeditions
I have to say the T-V is my favorite boat
Oh My son in law watched us paddle of on the trip and it nearly killed him
I think he will wind up with my T-V are a new one and he is a big ole boy 325.
On my trip I had between 425 and 450 lbs on board and she handled fine
Open deck doesnt work well here but I guess she would be ok built like that
Hope this Helps
Oh Mick meet an Aussie From Texas in Queensland do you know where that is
Ron
Mick They are both excellent boat and I would recommend them both highly
