I'm thinking of building a pirogue as a first simple boat. Is the 14-29 stitch and glue? I've seen other plans that call for duct tape.

You could try to use duct tape to hold the seams together while the fillets dry. You might have to throw in a couple stitches.

The tape could work but if you attach it really good but is there a chance of pulling some of the wood fibers when removing it , seams like a risky item.

I'd rather use stitches than tape because I'd like to learn the stitch technique. Just wondering what Matt specifies in the plans for this boat.

I've tried it and experienced the splintering. I also found that even duct tape comes loose in the middle of the night. Wire stitching doesn't.

Sometimes the tape will leave a residue that the epoxy doesnt like
