Matt has sent me the plans for this boat and I think it will be a mover.
I started gathering the wood over the last few days and will keep you informed.

Looking forward with great interest. I reckon that this will be one heck a boat. I'm jealous already.

It won't be a hull you stand up and cast from, but it should be quite fast. I think it would keep pace with the 17' North Wind with minimal load on board. As the payload goes up, I think the 17' would do better.

my 17 ft Northwind is the ultimant tripping boat in my opion. I havent even come close to payload capacity on her.
This boat should be my racing long distance light boat.

I have got to stop reading these posts. After reading about yours and Darrells Northwinds I did a bit of reading about the orgins of them and Verlan Kruger's adventures. Bad idea - now the Northwind is on my list of boats  .

Earvin,
You won't go wrong building a NorthWind. Both the S&G and the Stripper are sweet boats to paddle.
