How do you pronounce "fillet" ?

Is it fill-ay like in "filet-o-fish" or fill-eht like in "I eht catfish 'till I was fill'd."

I've been thinking it's fill-eht.

I pronounce it "pain-in-da-arse!". Has to be even worse then sanding...

G'day,

Aussies pronounce it fill -et both in boat building and in cutting the sides of fish :D

Fillay sounds way too french and we generally don't like them very much :D

about the only place it is pronounced fill lay is in the Mcdonalds fast food places :D

Fillet: FILL-it n: an inside joint or seam. v: to make or construct an inside joint or seam

Fillet: fill-LAY n: center of a loin cut of beef, pork, venison, etc. The entire side meat from a fish, minus bones, and sometimes skinless. v; to slice out a fillet of meat from a fish or large, mammalian animal

Filly: FILL-lee n: female colt or young girl

File': FEE-lay n: Cajun seasoning made of sassafras leaves
