I am going to build the Pirogue TV. I plan on ripping cedar 2by4's to make my panels. Has anyone built with 1.5 inch strips?

Thanks, that will save quite a bit of money. In Houston the best I can find for 4mm Okoume bs1088 is $60 per sheet.
If my calculations are right, I can build this boat with 7 or 8 eight foot cedar 2x4's which are available at Lowes.

Thats how I did my cedar strip Touring Pirogue. It worked great. Half as may glue joints that way. I am currently doing an Okwata the same way, but with 5/4 cedar deck boards.
Enjoy the build.

I used a combination of 3/4 and 1 1/2 inch strips to do my decks and tankwell and they worked great and looked great. But I'm still a rookie . . .
