Plans delivered outside of USA

Post by paddlepup »

This may be a question that Hairy Mick can answer.

Mick how long does it take for JEM plans to be delivered to Australia. Placed an order for plans for Laker 14 on 19 Jan and haven't seen anything yet. I have received other orders from the US in under 2 weeks. Should I be concerned yet :?: :?: :?:

Matt, I did receive an email from USPS saying the plans were to be shipped in 21 Jan :
Type of Service: Priority Mail International Flat Rate Envelope
Label Number: LJ505501736US

I'm not ready to panic yet, but will just keep lookin' :P
Cheers

Hi Paddlepup.......
They won't be far away. The first set of plans I ordered from Matt arrived in about 8 days.......Fantastic!......
The second set I ordered hadn't arrived after about 3 weeks
I emailed Matt just to check that he had recieved the order and he advised he had but that delivery times to Oz were a bit unpredictable once they're in the hands of the postal services............. And of course, they arrived the next day! :)

G'day Paddlepup,

First up, congratulations on the purchase of plans for a superb boat mate.

Delivery to Aus can be erratic. Some of Matt's plans have arrived in about 4 days while others have taken up to about 4 weeks.

Rule of thumb seems to be around two weeks from ordering to arrival.

This seems to be pretty standard when ordering anything from the US. I think the hold up is our customs. every one of mine has been opened by them. :D
Regards,
Mick

The US Postal Service raised its rates to cover storage. :)

Thanks for the replies, sounds like the plans should turn up in a week or so. Hope to be able to post in the Builders Log section real soon.

I would ask (as a sworn Para from the 2nd Regiment), that you not blame Her Majesty for any delay you may experience in the delivery of your bloody plans Sir!!

Lee, I should explain that the HM reffered to in my signature block has nothing to do with Her Royal Highness.
No, I was happily just maintaining a browsing watch on matters to to with kayaks while thinking of my next building project.
Then along comes Hairy Mick (HM) with tales of building not one but two Lakers and then he tells stories of what a wonderfull bloody kayak they are and how they are now his favourites and the next thing I know I've ordered the plans and am all phsyched up to build the thing.
No wonder I'm blaming it all on HM, if it wasn't for him I'd still be happily uncommitted. :P :P :P

I think I am now happily committed but it's still HM's fault. :D :D :D

Pup,
Little did I realize you were of course refering to HIS HINDNESS!!
Mick is always open to all of our criticizims and jealous barbs. I want to know if his wife has any sisters, 'cause he gets to spend way too much time making the rest of us look bad.
If I could get away with it, I think I'd blame him for my addiction also. He makes it all look so easy.
Had I known the distraction boat building was going to bring into my life, I wouldn't have bothered getting started!!
Yes, not only can you blame Mick, You should blame him!!
In the mean time the rest of us mere mortals will mutter along with you as HM posts his next Builders Log.

Mick is also to blame for receding hair line and mean old Mr. Tooth Decay.

(Piper San - can we blame him for the IRS too?)
