Has anybody used black fiberglass before?

Do you mean carbon-fiber cloth? Seen stuff made with it, space hardware & stuff at work. Even seen it used for boats. It is way to expensive on my wallet for me to use tho.
Not sure if there is anything to gain by sheathing wood with it, as opposed to just plain fiber glass cloth, that would make it worth the cost. Thats a question for the engineering folks.

There is such a thing as black Fiberglass, it seems to be the response to the shortage of the carbon fiber and came to life in 2006. Apparently the Pentagon and Airbus have been sucking up all the carbon fiber so this stuff came along. I haven't seen any raw material for sale though.

- 8 HARNESS SATIN WEAVE is a very strong cloth but can be a bugger to get to wet out. You have to apply some extra pressure if you're using a foam roller.

It forms around corners ok.
