JEM Watercraft gear: t-shirts

ok enough people in the forum and back channel mentioned they wanted some JEM logo t-shirts.

When I think logo t-shirt, I think a light grey, plain t-shirt, 100% cotton, 6.1 ounce, with the JEM logo centered on the chest. Maybe just in black ink.

Or maybe the 2 color logo like you see in the upper left of your browser window if you scroll up. The area inside the canoe letters would be the color of the t-shirt.

That would be just an every-day type shirt. Not really "paddling gear" type shirt.

What are everyone else's thoughts?

It is just my thought but I think it would be a good idea but in color.
If you are using Cafe Press then have a picture of one of your boats that someone has built on the back side or vice-a-versa to create some interest.

You know which boat is the best seller so go with it and your logo. Without the boat then anyone looking at it would wounder ... What is a Jem Watercraft ? I would also have the website address under the logo and the picture of the boat. It pays to let folks know and if you don't then why do it.

Example...... The Logo and the web site in color............

PS. I would not use a picture of Mick in the boat...... That could make folks want a Wallaby Darn that they serve at the Out Back Restaurants or a Blooming Onion and not a boat.

I like your new sticker logo. Black logo on white-ish back ground would work for me. Website is also a very good idea.

A piccie of one of your more popular boats would also be nice, but not absolutely necessary, I think.

I would be inclined to keep it elegant and simple and not too trashy.

Both Robin and I would wear them with pride - everywhere

What-ever you decide mate, Put me down for 2 X large and 2 X womens medium to start with.

Re the wallabies Chucky, If the outback resteraunt has genuine, kangaroo tail stew, give it a try.

very, very good food. Not the yuppy stuff like roo steaks & such. They are too tough and way to lean for my liking. The tail of a roo is the only part of the animal that carries ANY fat, or much flavour for that matter.

Personally, I would much rather a very well done, roast leg of marino lamb or even goat as opposed to roo meat.

If I get into making my own t-shirts, I might offer a custom shirt with the plans and profile drawing with model name. Then company name and web address under it. Or maybe JEM logo on the front, and the boat image outline image with specs on the back.

It would be very cool but it's a ways off.

For now, I'd have a shop make them for me so for this first style shirt, everyone would have to be the same...except for size of course.

hey mick , i can tell from what you wrote above that you have not tried JACK ABSLOMS lake phrom braise ( roo meat ) done in a camp oven , if you do try it i rekon you will change your mind on roo meat . the recipe is in his book CAMP OVEN COOKING . roo steaks on the other hand need to be cooked like deer meat , and there aint nothing yuppie about them . no yuppies out here where i am .the only place we dont have roos at home is in the house they are even pinching the hay out of my shed at the moment .
wonder who i could send the hay bill to . E.P.A , or D.N.R or parks and wild life . some one should cough up for the aggistment.

sent it to PETA, they're the ones who object to culling so much.

Nothing wrong with fresh goat stew either, especially with fresh made beer bread, all done in the camp oven of coarse, it's a great way to wind down after a day hunting goats up and down the mountains just south of Tenterfield...... mmmmmmm beer!

Black ink on gray shirt or black ink on white shirt, would be my choice.
I am for artwork stuff on the back of the shirt instead of the front, unless it is just a small logo (with website address).
On the back I would have larger logo (with website address), simple line drawing of one of your boats (top view & side view only, no need for a front view) and underneath the image the words "Canoe, Kayak & other boat plans" or something to that effect.

Or maybe:

Canoe, kayak & other boat plans

Course the would all be centered. I would still only go with the two views of the boat.

A JEM tee shirt would be even neater than a Hooters tee shirt. (Unless they come "filled".)

I do think that the JEM should be in red as in your logos. Just my thoughts, but, red makes a statement while black hides behind something.

I would say, go with a JEM Logo on the left breast area and the line drawing as DM suggested on the back.

If possible, the line drawing could be of a specific boat so the person could have his boat shirt.

Not only do I think that would look good, think of the number of shirts you would sell to Mick [ considering the number of boats he has built ]

Baldy mate, you are a man of perception and insight.

I like Baldies idea - a lot

perhaps with the model name in black just under the line drawing.

Matt, If you decide to run with this, please consider this as an order for one of each boat I have built.

and I would be VERY happy to order such a shirt for any subsequent boats that I build.
